Co-workers clock up 35,851 kilometres for charity!
During the second annual Ikano Health Week, 904 co-workers ran, walked or cycled a total of 35,851 kilometres. The effort will be converted into a donation to long-term scholarships for students at our charity partner Mechai Bamboo School in Thailand.
With an average of almost 40 kilometres covered by each participant, Group Head of Sustainability Lars Svensson (pictured below) praised the efforts made.
“We have seen incredible contributions this year – one co-worker in Poland even biked nearly 700 kilometres! I think it’s safe to say that everybody has indeed gone #TheExtraMile this year too,” he concluded.
The Ikano Health Week finished on Sunday 24 October with the Ikano Bank Robin Hood Marathon Events in Nottingham, where over 10,000 runners (including 34 Ikano co-workers) took to the streets for the mini, half and full marathons.
